A place of life, love, and acceptance!

Where the Spirit of Adoption will be on every child as they cry out “Abba!”

Romans 8: 15-16

The name of this house was given to honor Mother Elisha’s Mom, who is also known as “Mother Teresa” to her loved ones and friends because of the way she gave of herself selflessly to others, and especially children. Her father and mother raised not only their seven children, but assisted in loving and building up the friends of their children and many troubled adolescents, making them feel they had a home and a family.

This house will not be an orphanage, but a family where the poorest of the poor, children and adolescents, can call home. In Ghana many orphans are taken care of by extended family members. However, poverty stricken families are unable to take care of these orphans sufficiently, because of lack of income many children are unable to attend school. The older adolescents may have to drop out of school to help their parents provide for their household. Even some young children are sent out on the street to beg or become street vendors at the age of 3 and 4 years of age to help make a living for their families. That is a vulnerable place for any child to be and many things can happen.

We want to provide a place of rest and nurturing where children who are unable to be taken care of by the parents, can grow, be loved, and be provided for. Romans 8:15-16 would be the foundation scripture for this home as the children will be taught about the Kingdom of God and how we are all one family in Christ with one Father—Abba!

Every night we will share bedtime stories and pray with the children before they sleep. They will have a playroom with toys, books, board games, crafts, and a small chapel room in the house painted by the children to be a place where they can spend time with Jesus and pray.

The Needs of The Children In Ghana

  • Love
  • Someone they can trust in
  • Someone who willing to trust them
  • Clothing & Food
  • Education
  • Shelter
  • Protection

All that I have allowed, My little one, was in preparation for this community for you to truly meet the children where they are at. For you to shower your love and compassion upon them and for you to grow in much more patience.”

“Oh boy, I can imagine.” I said, laughing.

Jesus continued, “Yes, but it will bring you much joy, much joy to all who are apart of this community and you will bring the children much joy! Many wounds will be healed in that place, beloved.”

Providing Love For Young Teenage Mothers

Teenage pregnancies have been on the rise in Ghana and many young mothers find themselves sometimes taken care of by the Father of the child’s family for a time. However, they themselves are left without help and have to drop out of school to take care of their child. This house will provide a room dedicated to young teenage mothers and those expecting. We want to educate these young teens about Jesus’ profound love for them. That they need not look anywhere else for a man’s love when they have God’s love. Also teach them about Chasity, Purity and waiting on the Lord for their spouses. We will help them by paying for FREE medical care, FREE child care and FREE education through our Heaven’s School so the mothers can grow, mature, and be equipped to provide for themselves and their children, and to impact their communities and peers with the love of God they have been baptized in!

Free Daycare For Mothers And Fathers Who Have To Work With No Support

Doris House will have a daycare room specifically for parents who have no one to take care of their toddlers and infants as they work during the day. We will provide FREE transportation with our “Jesus with love Buses” at a designated location for the parents to drop off their children and pick them up so they work without the burden of carrying their children or leave them wandering until they return. We will teach these toddlers the love of God, by praying with them and for them. Providing daily meals and educating them at the Heaven’s School in their alphabet, colors, music, and even scripture at their tender age to train them up in the ways of the Lord.

A Place The Street Children Can Call Home And Have A Family

30 million street children are found in our continent—Africa—and estimated that more than 90,000 children are found on the street of Ghana!

Most street children in Ghana are found and see the street as their home. They come from hardships in their lives. Some are orphans and some are from broken homes, where they prefer to live on the street in freedom than abide under rules at home. Others have mental health issues and some of these issues are related to the use of drugs, like tramadol, and glue intake.

The children face hardships on the street. The males grow up to join gangs and end up becoming armed robbers, thieves, drug addicts and engage in other criminal activities. Females become prostitutes, some are raped, and others are infected with diseases and die in the process.

We want to provide not only a house but a family for these children to be received in love. Nurtured in love, provided for in love, educated in love, and transformed by love. We know it won’t be easy! But we refuse to leave one child behind. Blessed Mother has made it clear she has hand-picked the precious souls who will be a part of this community—and we are already praying for them now!

Teaching The Children To Be Future Mothers And Fathers

Similar to the big brother and big sister program we will teach the children how to care for one another there by caring for souls!

We will teach the older ones in the community how to be big brothers and sisters to the younger ones. Helping them keep up with their studies, their spiritual formation, and meeting weekly to spend time with them as a soul friend. This will help the older ones grow in the role of being future spiritual Mothers and Fathers to souls. It will also teach them patience, brotherly love, and caring for souls.

Help Us Build This Family!

This community will live solely of God’s providence through donations. Freely we have received so freely we will give all that we have and pour it out on the precious souls of Ghana. However, we cannot do this mission and fulfill this call on our own. We need you to come along side us as co-labors to sow into this community as you touch the lives of these many precious little ones who have been neglected, rejected, and outcast by the world. Support this community with a donation or Get Involved! You are needed and not one seed you sow or time you give to this community will fall on the ground wasted, but will reap a harvest of thirty, sixty, and even a hundred fold! Not only in this life, but the next! Will you help us build the City of God?

Other Projects in the Mission!

When asking, what are the needs of the people of Ghana?

“It’s the children who are in need. And when you meet the children’s needs, you will also meet the needs of the parents. Eventually meeting the needs of the community and the people of Ghana.”

—Blessed Mother
