Hello brothers and sisters and Heartdwellers family. I wanted to share with you guys, some photos and video footage of the outreach we have done so far here in Ghana. The Lord continues to impress upon our hearts to give lavishly to the poor.
Lavishly he gives to the poor;
his righteousness shall endure forever;
his horn shall be exalted in honor (Psalm 112:9)
We are beginning to start our ‘From Jesus With Love’ outreach in a small way in hopes it grows, so we can touch many more people and feed many more hungry for love, compassion and food. We began by first going out with Father Derricks friend, Prophet Kobby, who has a ministry here in Ghana. They go out often to different areas in Accra with packaged food to pass out to street children, their families and the destitute living under bridges because of drugs or misfortune.
We went to five different places that day and prayed for many people. It was very interesting and we learned a lot of patience, as many grabbed or wanted to argue over food. It breaks our hearts many times because you wonder if what you’re doing is enough. But I remind myself, we must start just with the one; and love, greet, and serve them well.
We now have an appointment every Wednesday with Christina’s Little Ark School, where all of the 19 children we sponsor go to school. That is their day of worship and prayer in the mornings, and they asked Father Derrick to come and preach a word and lead the children in worship. So we had two mothers join us, as the children led the worship with songs, laughter and clapping. We will have a video for you guys next time – we are just having technical difficulties retrieving the footage off our phones.
And lastly, the outreach ‘From Jesus With Love’ will begin every Friday. My cousin Antointette who is over ‘Happy Care Global’, an organization Heartdwellers supports, helps us with this outreach. Sister Ruth, the young lady who has now come to stay to help us with the mission, and my cousin and myself, get together every Friday morning and cook the food. We do rice and salmon stew fresh, put it in packs and pass it out. We started with 25 boxes of food, but now realize the Lord wants us to do so much more, because everyone doesn’t get a chance to eat. We are needing to do now at least 50 boxes of food and I know it will increase in the future when we get more help.
I hope you guys have enjoyed the photos and videos of your labor and reward in supporting this ministry. Ghana’s inflation is so high, just like it is everywhere else and the cost of food prices change everyday. As of now, it costs us 350 cedis every week to do this and now with the Lord wanting us to increase, it will cost us around 500 cedis, which is about $50. It seems like a small amount, but with our donations going out constantly to help others, it can be hard to come by.
So please continue to support with your prayers, encouragement, and generosity. If any of you would like to sponsor this outreach every week, please donate to PayPal. Thank you for all who have given to us for our phase 1 building GoFundMe campaign. We are almost able to afford to get the survey done – we have about £2300, and we are in need of around £2800 to at least begin the survey. So please guys, continue to give to us.
God bless you family, until the next message.
