Hello Family,
Below is a continuation of the previous message entitled, Heartdwellers Africa — The Children’s Ministry, posted December 13, 2022, where Mother Elisha described her visit to the Deaf School located in Bechem, a small town just outside Accra, the Capitol of Ghana. This video is a Vlog, capturing photos and videos of their visit. Ghana has only 2 Deaf Schools in the Nation and this is one of them. “We went to have fun with the kids”, said Mother Elisha.
Following are excerpts from the previous message which describe the visit to the school, and also introduces some of the families whom we have been inspired to help, as shown in this Vlog.
Mother Elisha – The Deaf School (excerpt)
Then we went to the deaf community in Bechem, which is an older town outside the Capitol in Ghana. We had a blast with the children. I took sign language in college — although I forgot most things, I remember the ASL alphabet. I was able to communicate with them and learn all over again. Father Derrick had a wonderful time as well, as we also showed the kids water balloon games. They had never played with water balloons, and I notice that all the kids in Africa love that. It was so much fun.
The deaf school is very large and accommodates the “dumb and blind” as they are called. So we would love to host a big party of games for them all because not all of them could play. There are over 200 kids so, whatever donations you can provide, you can put towards items for them to host another water balloon game and party.
I’m excited to share with you, family what we have been doing so far in Ghana, and how far your support has taken us to end this year with a wonderful bang! Please lift up the children in your prayers. The second week that we had our gathering, there was so much in-fighting among them, that two of the children got into a fistfight. Then we found out that two of the children got a three-old and tried to sodomize him. My goodness! So we have been praying for a spirit of purity upon them. Now I am meeting two earlier so I can pray ahead for the ministry before we meet on Wednesdays and that has changed everything
Regarding the Aid Project (excerpt)
I was in Adoration when I first got the inspiration to begin meeting with the Kids every Wednesday to teach them and to pray with them, after seeing one of the Mothers who is single and had two kids. Her child kept staring at me as I took a walk to pray, and we started a conversation where she mentioned the father of her children has left. She can’t work because she has no one to watch the children (who are 2 and 3 years of age). She was just praying to God, that week, for a miracle. I thought, Wow, it’s amazing how the Lord can use us to be an answered prayer. She has such a pure heart that when I told her about what I intended to do she introduced me to six other women in the neighborhood who needed help, and their children. We then found out many of the children could not afford school, which is only $50 for admission and, in total, about $250 for each child for the whole school year.
We sought the Lord, and Derrick and I felt the Lord wanted us to help as many children go to school. So as of now, we have provided the first quarter admission for sixteen (and counting) children to go to school. We still have to pay $3,272 for the remainder of the year, so their fees [would be] paid in full. So we are trusting you to be generous as you have been so we can make that happen for the children. You will meet the family and the children so there [are] names to the faces.
We also have purchased a 55-gallon barrel [that] we can fill up with many supplies and have it shipped to Ghana for the children. The cost of shipping the Barrel is $180. And we want to get at least $300 worth of school supplies, crafts for our Wednesday meetings, sanitary items, and shoes. If you would like to make an in-kind donation and have old or used clothes, toys, [or] school supplies, that would be greatly appreciated.
We intend to ship the barrel [during] the second week of January. It will take about eight to nine weeks to get to us. If you would like to donate, please send all packages to 2402 Overbrook Dr., Arlington, Texas, 76014, and [label] the package, Heartdwellers Africa. Whatever you can give would be of great help.
God bless you, family, until the next message.
