Luke 2:12
“This will be a sign to you: You will find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger.”
During this Christmas Holiday the Lord has called many of us to himself . To not get caught up with the business of the Holidays but really spend some time with him, with baby Jesus in a manager. Really placing yourself in the moment with Joseph and Mary imaging the emotions they were felling ,their thoughts as they made that long journey to Bethlehem. I watched a couple of nativity scenes during my worship time with the Lord as I began to realize over and over again reading his story “That the whole world missed it”. The whole world missed the birth of the messiah besides a small few who received revelation from heaven and in that moment it hit me. The whole world continues to miss him even now.
At that time many had heard of the prophecy of the coming messiah. Very few were waiting with anticipation to see the fulfillment. Many were living their lives as business as usual unaware that heaven was about to invade the earth and change mankind for all of eternity! The religious people where looking for a Messiah who would come to save them from the wicked rule of the Roman empire. They were looking for a King to arrive with strength, power, dignity and honor to subdue all the enemies of the Jewish people so that they could reign. They were looking for a messiah with influence, with attraction, well learned, with wealth and with authority that they would be proud to call “The King of the Jews” but they missed him. They must’ve have not looked deeply within some of the prophecies that the Messiah would:
Isaiah 53:3-5
He grew up before him like a tender shoot,
and like a root out of dry ground.
He had no beauty or majesty to attract us to him,
nothing in his appearance that we should desire him.
3 He was despised and rejected by mankind,
a man of suffering, and familiar with pain.
Like one from whom people hide their faces
he was despised, and we held him in low esteem. That is birth would be by miraculous:
Isaiah 7:14
14 Therefore the Lord himself will give you a sign: The virgin[b] will conceive and give birth to a son, and[c] will call him Emmanuel.
Yet in all of these prophecies they missed him. All of heaven was in anticipation of his birth when the world scorned his mother from having a place to lodge thereby having him in a manger. All of heaven was rejoicing when the world was in silence but only a few shepherds who received a message from the Angels about the birth of the messiah and the 3 wise kings who were led by the Holy Spirit to seek him and find him. The rest of the world missed out on the most amazing event in all of history, God becoming man for our sake because of his love.
- The religious people were looking for a King instead of a baby, they missed it
- The world was blinded and unaware, they missed it
However, the wicked always seem to be up with the times. As God’s people missed it, King Herod did not. The king was very aware of the prophecies and believed. He had so much faith in them that he went on a rampage killing thousands of first born’s males just to ensure that this messiah would be killed at birth. He didn’t miss it but missed the mark.
Just as the times we are living in now, many are missing our Lord. Even God’s people, as we built beautiful building for him, filled it with beautiful people, big conferences, concert lights and worship. We have substituted entertainment for his presence, were missing him. He has revealed to us the signs of the times and last days in Matthew 24. We are in that season yet many of Gods people are asleep. Not caring at all to live like he is returning tomorrow because he is, at any moment in a twinkle of an eye. Many of Gods people run to this ministers, this pastor, this prophet to get a word from God, or better yet look up too them too be the standard of Christian living when it looks nothing at all like Christ, were missing him. Many of Gods people desire, seek and pursue to live the abundant life of comfortably, wealth, honor and influence among men. When Jesus calls us to imitate him in poverty, in selflessness, in meekness and only to seek honor which comes from above, were missing him.
However the wicked of our age, those in the occult and deep state government are very well aware of the times we are in and the prophecy of the second coming of Christ. So much so they have conditioned the minds of the world with end times movies, apocalyptic shows, and anti-Christ agenda. They continue to stir up distention and desire to cause death and destruction in order to bring about the reign of the Kingdom of Darkness before the second coming of Christ. They haven’t missed him but, have missed the mark.
So don’t miss Jesus this holiday when he is every present waiting for you to enter into his presence. Don’t miss Jesus in this season when he is calling his people to get their house in order because He is coming oh so soon, in our generation. Don’t miss Jesus in this generation when many are succumb to business as usual, living for themselves and looking to men to be the standard of Christianity than following Christ. DON’T MISS HIM!
